chapter 36; its pips 21st bday meaning he is a grown up man meaning he was able to get money and fulfil his destiny of being a gentleman, and he wont need jaggers expensive. But for the record pip was only able to get £500 a year and with the exctiment he still invites jaggers to his party, in the outcome the evening becomes awkard for pip and herbert even though herbert did warn him.

chapter 39: pip is now 23 and with the fact that he is not allowed to marry estella at all… At midnight during a thunder a sailor enters pips apartment.. To his shock it was the same convict that he had treated him when he was a little boy the bad thing was with the convicts history, if he was “on the run” from the law and if caught he would be put to death immediately and it is obviously his duty to still take care of him seeing as he has “crestfallen heart” but as he feeds and puts him to sleep he finds the convict sleeping with a pistol and he runs to sleep but with herbert unaware of this “situation” pip is left to be frightened to sleep…
chapter 40; pip wakes up and trips over a “shadowy” man, as he runs to get the watch man the man is gone. Pips convict finally reveals his name to be ” Abel Mag-witch ” but to hide the truth way from his servants he makes sure his identity is known as “uncle provis” as he arranges a disguise he calls Jaggers to tell him of the story. only to have mag witch embarrass Pip as a gentleman over his manners
chapter 41; 5 days later, Herbert and pip agree that he shouldn’t use M//-witch money, magwitch then leaves once Pip and herbert take him abroad so he can be safe from the police
